Our Story
Original Burn Machine was born out of a desire to bring a fresh perspective to the fitness industry. Our founders, a team of fitness enthusiasts, recognized the need for exercise equipment that could not only deliver results but also add efficiency to every workout session. The original company Burn Machine was started in the early 2000’s when Yuri and Rudolph came to Norbert (founder/owner) with a rough demo product of a barbell (Universal barbell). Norbert was a very successful businessman who owned many businesses and had the means of properly designing the product and getting the idea off the ground. Norbert invented the speed bag after playing around with the rotating handles and had his designer put the handles together to see what it would look like, and bam the Speed bag was created!
The company’s main products are the Speedbag and a Universal Barbell. The original product is a unique barbell, called the Universal Barbell, is larger and is designed more for weight training than for an aerobic workout. The handles can be turned during an exercise allowing you to seamlessly transition into the next exercise or work a different part of the muscle, the Universal barbell can be used for two types of bicep curls, shoulder presses, triceps extensions, or all three in one fluid motion and much more. It is like having an entire ez curl barbell set all with one barbell that can hold up to 200lbs. The Speed Bag consists of two circles of steel with steel/rubber handles that move freely during exercises. It’s called a Speed Bag because you can emulate punching a speed bag with it, but it is not fixed to a celling, it’s portable.
The product found its way into the world of mixed martial arts after renowned strength training coach Freddie G (who was training several mixed martial arts stars) stopped by the company’s booth at a fitness trade show. The exercise equipment gained fame when UFC champions Anderson Silva and Brock Lesnar used the speed bag in training sessions that aired on television! Enthusiasm for the sport is so strong, it took only a brief appearance for the company’s product to prompt fans to seek out the equipment. The company was on the rise and other MMA stars like Donald Cowboy Cerrone were using the product. Things were good!
Norbert was diagnosed with a very aggressive and rare type of cancer, in the early part of 2014. Though Norbert battled this cancer fearlessly, determinedly, and valiantly, he lost his battle with the deadly cancer in September of 2014. One of Norbert’s sons took over the company and kept the company going for another 3-4 years and then it closed. One of Norbert’s other sons has officially brought the company back to life! Since then, our dedication to quality, functionality, and customer satisfaction has allowed us to build a loyal community of athletes and fitness enthusiasts who trust our brand.
